  • hi Guys
Tried to order the Secret weapons dvd but I keep being returned to your web site and not able to purchase

    • Hi Graham, it seems like Paypal has been playing up today. Some folks have managed to order and then other times it has been ‘returning people to the merchant’. Can you try a couple of things.. Firstly just completely refresh the page and try again after a few minutes.

Secondly, try it from a different device if you have one available.. (laptop or phone or tablet)

I’m sorry (and annoyed) that Paypal is causing these problems for you and others.

      Paul

        • Thank you Graham for sticking with it and reporting back on your success. Many thanks also for supporting our launch efforts (despite the stresses of PayPal trying to kick us in the unmentionables!!!)

          Paul

    • Hi Walter – we will be making a standalone download version available in the weeks after the launch of the physical DVD.

Of course, with the current offer, you could order the DVD as a gift for someone else and keep the download version for yourself for around the same price as the download alone. 🙂

  • Hi guys, not speaking as a pro tyer but as someone that has rattled out a few.
The mini series is a great vehicle to show what can be achieved by following the DVD.
In my humble opinion there is enough information, instruction and encouragement to take someone from catching on their first thread to ‘that stage’ where you feel slightly uncomfortable fishing with a kebari that you haven’t tied yourself.
Thought it was great to also show the experimental side of kebari tying and encourage folk to try different materials etc to personalise their kebari to specific requirements.
    Great job guys!!!

    • Tremendous feedback Glenn as that is exactly the experience we hoped to provide for people. It’s a brilliant feeling when you know that other people can share in and benefit from the experiences we are lucky to have had.

  • Robust ! I like robust. I favor robust kebari they will hold together long enough to become rumpled looking, like a bug pummeled in stream currents, becoming imo more attractive to fish.

      • Downloaded the two videos, the accompanying pdf file, plus the updated How to Fool Fish with Simple Flies pdf files today. No problems, except for my internet connect being a bit slow.

The videos delivered robust information as expected. JP I appreciate the tying tips, advice, and demonstrations. I even liked the bit about leaving on a few errant feather barbs sticking out of the kebari body.

One trick not presented that I learned after finding the name of a well known western style fly fishing Japanese angler and book author, whose name I don’t recall, is to leave the tail end of the thread long when wrapping on the base layer of thread. Later you can counter wrap it forward over the peacock herl, zenmai or wool yarn body, the same way JP demonstrated. (or wrap the peacock herl or yarn round the thread). The forward end is finished off with a couple of half hitches or just a few turns round, which are farther secured by being over wrapped with thread coming off the bobbin as you complete the fly. I use that technique once in a while, just for variation in how I do things. It seems to work well.

I’ve also found green thread to be an attractive color to fish. You will see several green thread kebari in Ajari’s kebari box in the Tenkara New Techniques DVD featuring Takahashi Shin & Saigō Kazumi. [ 高橋伸と西郷和巳 ]

    • Welcome to the family of Kebari tiers David, I’m sure you’re going to love the satisfaction of catching your first fish on a self tied kebari. Please share any pictures and stories of that first one (especially which of the 12 patterns made the magic work for you).

      Paul

  • Looking forward to your new presentation. Just wanted to know when the download would be available. Past purchases were almost immediate. Thanks and looking forward to the patterns

    • Hi Steve, we are creating and uploading the download version in parallel with the launch. We’ll be sending out a slip with your physical copy with a free download link and code.

Many thanks for supporting our launch and I wish you huge success with the tying and the fishing of these 12 patterns from our travels.

  • Hi Paul and John
Have you thought about providing a sreaming version as well? I consume my multmedia on an iPad and downloading is a pain. And I don’t own a DVD player anymore. Vimeo allowas for selling your content that way. Cheers, Mark

    • Hi Mark, we’ve been thinking about it for a while – and thank you very much for your suggestion and insight. One of the major things that we need to test out is a viable price for streaming versions of our products. In other words, how to price it so that we can still recover the costs and effort of producing each title. Out of interest, what would you expect to pay to stream our material?

      • Hi Paul
I would pay the same amount as for the DVD. I donˋt need to physically posess the content. But that is just me.
